BTS: Behind the Stage

I've been wanting to do this for the longest time. I was holding back since I wanted to use a particular camera for this series. I've always wanted to use the Fuji X Pro-1 or the x100s. Yes, it can definitely be done with a dslr but personally, i thought of shooting this with a Fuji will be a different kind of experience and approach. First, I wanted how small and discreet it is. Secondly, it is very silent. I reckon that was more important than having bigger sensor for this project in particular.
Luckily, I was loaned a Fuji X100s that I have to return soon.
These photos were made during an actual performance. This was photographed on the gala night of Ballet Philippines' "Rock Supremo" at the CCP Little Theater.
When I was still an active dance professional, backstage scenes and images would stick to my mind. Those times when my camera was my eye and memory was my brain. I wish I was able to photograph and record it but I was either waiting for my cue or changing costumes. Also, high ISO film was hard to come by back then or it was very expensive and my knowledge in push processing BW films came too late. But mostly, I was busy performing.
I really wish to photograph more for this series if I get to have another Fuji camera (bought, given or borrowed). Will definitely try to photograph other live theater performances besides dance.
I'd really appreciate it if you can visit the whole gallery here.
